How to Use BB Cream Properly

Choose the Right BB Cream for Your Skin Type

Different skin types would need to care for them differently. Find a cream that suits your needs, and apply it according to the type of skin you have.

Oily Skin Type
If your skin is oily, consider a BB Cream with a matte finish. Apply the cream alone as your main moisturizer. Look for BB creams with natural plant extracts since those are less likely to cause a reaction.

Dry Skin Type
If you have dry skin, it is advisable to apply the cream over your regular moisturizer. Look for skin moisturizing formulas. The consistency of the cream should be watery since thick creams can cause excess dryness.

Combo Skin Type
If you have combination skin, apply a moisturizer to the dry areas only.

Normal Skin
To care for normal skin, you should consider using a moisturizing BB Cream that can make your skin appear smoother.

How to Apply a BB Cream?

Now if you have never used a BB cream then you should know that you can’t just slather it on your face like a sunscreen or a moisturizer. You need to adopt various methods of applying a BB cream that totally depends on your skin type and texture.

When to Use Fingers?
Most women have a habit of using their fingers to gently rub a cream into their skin. They like to use their fingers to ensure that the cream is thoroughly absorbed by their skin. If you are among them, then you should know that it is advisable to use your fingers in two scenarios only. First, if you have normal skin (not dry and neither oily) and second if you are using a balmy BB Cream. The only downside of using your fingers is that sometimes the coverage is not as smooth as with a brush or sponge as you may miss out certain areas of your face.

When to Use a Makeup Sponge?
On the other hand, if you have an oily skin, then you should use a makeup sponge to help put on the BB Cream. A Sponge would ensure that the excess oil present in your skin pores does not negate the effects and benefits of a BB Cream. You should also use a sponge while using the BB Creams that are available in pure liquid form. The only downside of using a sponge is that you have to work quickly to ensure that most of the cream does not get absorbed by the sponge only.

When to Use a Brush?
If you have dry skin that feels rough, then you should certainly use a brush to apply the BB Cream. Again a brush is an effective option while using a liquid BB Cream as it ensures that the cream is spread evenly throughout the face.
Apart from reducing the need for makeup, a BB cream would also help you to make your face glow. This change would surely help you get many compliments.
